Latest from Hope

Yes in case you have not heard. There have been some changes in our movement. Its confusing with everyone using the same name as such.

Hope Bangkok now is only about 400-500 people. Ps Nimit has started a new church due to some direction differences. The Hope Bangkok Website has of course changed. There is a new Pastor taking chrage now in Hope Place

There are I think 2-3 new churches which stared 2 i believe from Hope Bangkok and possibly one that came out from PN.

Also internationally, Both Hong Kong and Hope Sydney is not under HIM banner, regardless though I do wish them well. I think in a more positive light at least it allows the Pastor to lead the church and set his own direction. In any case the kingdom of God still advances.

I really do hope the movement will adopt a new name, so that it will avoid any confusion. Seeing that PN is planning to launch his international crusade to win back lost ground. It took them 20 years to establish the Hope Movement. I suppose it will take as long to do that as well.

I will add in the new website links too. So we can see how our movement have changed and grow. I believe positive things will come out

One of the new link is called the Alive Church in Bangkok

I have found something very interesting that remind me of a certain pastor in Hope, to be more specific, in Australia, to be even more specific, Western Australia.

This is very similiar to how i feel or how i experience when in Hope ______ church.

1) The group will have an ELITIST view of itself in relation to others, and a UNIQUE CAUSE. e.i. THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES RIGHT - everyone else is wrong. THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES DOING GOD'S WILL - everyone else is in apostasy.

2) They will promote their cause actively, and in doing so, abuse God-given personal rights and freedoms. This abuse can be THEOLOGICAL, SPIRITUAL, SOCIAL & PSYCHOLOGICAL.

3) Their leader/s may claim a special, exclusive ministry, revelation or position of authority given by God.

4) They believe they are the only true church and take a critical stance regarding the Christian church while at the same time praising and exalting their own group, leader/s and work.

5) They use intimidation or psychological manipulation to keep members loyal to their ranks. This is a vital part of the mind control process.

6) There will be great emphasis on loyalty to the group and its teachings. The lives of members will be totally absorbed into the group's activities. They will have little or no time to think for themselves because of physical and emotional exhaustion. This is also a vital part of the mind control process.

7) There will be total control over almost all aspects of the private lives of members. This control can be direct through communal living, or constant and repetitious teaching on "how to be a true Christian" or "being obedient to leadership". Members will look to their leaders for guidance in everything they do.

8) Any dissent or questioning of the group's teachings is discouraged. Criticism in any form is seen as rebellion. There will be an emphasis on authority, unquestioning obedience and submission. This is vigilantly maintained.

9) Members are required to demonstrate their loyalty to the group in some way. This could be in the form of "dobbing" on fellow members (including family) under the guise of looking out for "spiritual welfare".
They may be required to deliberately lie (heavenly deception/theocratic strategy).

10) Attempts to leave or reveal embarrassing facts about the group may be met with threats. Some may have taken oaths of loyalty that involve their lives or have signed a "covenant" and feel threatened by this.
Refugees of the group are usually faced with confrontations by other members with coercion to get them to return to the group.

Do you guys know what these are define? I tell you... CULT! And guess what? I experience all the above in that church I was telling you about. Sad but true.

What can I say? I simply agree with you 'How similar'...

The latest going around even scarier.

It's been said that there has been break in into leaders' email accounts to check up on them. To make sure that they are still loyalty to top leader.

That is one way to mind control people. Of course they deny accusations. I don't know how true, but just a thing to watch out for people! It's still a rumour but then who knows?

As much as I don't like Hope, but I don't think the email thing is true. How horrible can they be? They wouldn't stoop to that level would they?

Hay guys, let's wait for God to bring the conclusion to all these issues. I totally agree what you all said. I were part of the ELITIST and I were so close Ps Sim?n previously (i can even get into any meeting in HOPE without restriction). I have a lot of things that I want to say to the movement/Ps Sim?n after doing bible college in theologically level. I don't think they know how to answer my questions (because i have tried to ask).

Anyway, I will just leave all these to God. For those who are still with Hope. I hope that you are all doing well. I pray that something will happen to turn the church to God's church. Perhaps God is using u! As for me, I'm really happy in where I'm now in other church. ;-)

No one joins a cult. People join a belief or movement. Then somewhere along the way, things slowly change and the group slowly turns into a cult.

For those still in the old "Hope" system. Leave it.

For those who left Hope, make sure you are not isolated from the rest of the body of Christ. If you remain isolated, in time the same problems will reoccur.
